Cholle Kulcha


Cholle Kulche is a North Indian street food that is served with amazing chickpeas in bread style. It has an amazing 'chaat' flavor that soothes your tastebuds. It is a to go style street food and is amazing to have on the go. 

It is very easy to make and is just perfect for that chaat craving. Do give it a shot. Trust me you'll not regret it.

Ingredients For CHOLLE KULCHE

  • Cholle (Chickpeas) 1 cup - soak overnight.
  • Finely chopped onions 1/2 cup
  • Finely chopped tomatoes 1/2 cup
  • Finely chopped coriander 
  • Tamarind pulp 1 Tbsp
  • Green chili paste 3-5 green chillies
  • Chaat masala 1 Tsp
  • Garam masala 1 Tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 Tsp
  • Coriander (dhaniya) powder 1/2 Tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Lemon juice
  • Burger bun or pav (bread) or kulcha

HOW TO MAKE CHOLLE KULCHE

  • Cook the soaked chickpeas in a pressure cooker with enough water till soft. Strain and cool
  • Mix in all the ingredients in the cooled cholle. All the vegetables and spices.
  • Slit in the burger bun or pav to make a pocket. Toast a little with butter on a pan
  • Fill the cholle stuffing in the pockets. Garnish with some onions and coriander.
  • Wrap in tissue paper for street style feel. Enjoy your spicy, masaledaar cholle kulche.
