Pizza/ Pasta Marinara Sauce
This is a delicious, lip smacking recipe of Marinara Sauce. Marinara Sauce can be used in pastas, pizzas, lasagnas and all the recipes that call for marinara sauce. It is a tomato based red sauce which has a sweet, spicy and tangy taste. Slow cooked tomatoes provide a heavenly taste that one can't resist. Dried herbs enhance the flavors of the sauce and takes us to Italy with it's first bite. Patience is the key to get amazing results and a trip to Italy!
I've tried this recipe many times for Pastas and Pizzas and it turns out amazing all the time. It's great for storing as well. Just put it in a well sterilized glass container (preferably a jar) and refrigerate it for next use. You can also refrigerate it to store it for longer. Trust me you'll want to once you try it.
The consistency can be adjusted according to its use. For Pastas you'll want a thinner sauce as compared to that for pizzas or lasagnas. The onion provides flavor and gives it a caramelized sweet flavor. The garlic is the showstopper here, the amount of garlic determines the depth of the flavor of the sauce. Last but not the least, the tomatoes. They are the main ingredient to hold all the complimenting flavors. Ripe red sweet tomatoes are preferred for any Tomato based sauce. But if not available at hand the sugar and Kashmiri Red Chillies are there for the job.
It is a combination of sweet, tangy, spicy and savory flavors that you wouldn't want to stop having. This recipe is very close to the classic recipe of Italy, but as everyone knows home cooking cannot be generalized and everyone have their own tips and tricks.
